Our technicians

When asked what is the biggest reason our clients continue to use us, the most common answer is our technicians. Their work ethic goes beyond simply cleaning. They are also great communicators making them great to work with. When our customers call us back, they remember our technicians’ names more than SteamPro’s.

They are trained, educated, and certified by the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), giving them a wide knowledge on all aspects of carpet cleaning. Aside from being adept at the mechanics of carpet cleaning, they also know all about each type of carpet fabric, types of soiling and stains, the correct solutions to treat them, as well as an understanding of what can and cannot be treated.

Our process

Our four-step process for carpet cleaning gives you the best possible result out there. First, we vacuum the carpet with our vacuum specific for carpets. It has rotating brushes that pick up dust deep in the carpet threads that normal vacuums cannot reach. It’s very important to vacuum the carpet prior to steam cleaning it. When you don’t extract dry soil with a vacuum first, you risk having some of it stay in the carpet after the steam cleaning. This is what causes stains and spots to reappear, also known as 'wicking'.

Next, we apply a pre-conditioner all over the carpet. It’s high-alkalinity breaks down dirt particles, loosening up all the traffic, stains, and spots on the carpet. It is totally safe and gives an extra edge in cleaning, saving us time and the need to use excessive water to clean the carpet.

After that, we begin the steam-cleaning process. Our machines shoot hot steam into the carpet, rinsing the pre-conditioner we applied earlier. Our machine also has two vacuums built inside, giving us more than adequate suction needed to extract all the moisture in the carpet. Our water extraction is so strong that dry time is usually limited to 5-6 hours. We never get complaints that carpets took more than a day to dry.

If your carpet has stains, we will treat them accordingly. There are so many different types of stains and they all must be treated differently. Some just require mild stain removers and we can treat them as we’re steam cleaning the carpet. Some require treatment before and after cleaning. If there is a stain that is going to be difficult or impossible to remove, the technician will tell you before agreeing to start cleaning. We will never guarantee something we can’t promise.

Protectant

Residential carpets are treated with stain and soil resistors during the manufacturing process to protect the carpet. After a year, most of this protectants wears off in high traffic areas. It should then be re-applied by a carpet cleaner after a professional cleaning to prolong the life and ‘cleanability’ for your carpet.

We can apply a protectant to your carpet, rug, or upholstery. It helps you vacuum your fabrics more effectively so they stay cleaner longer. It also helps us clean your fabrics better the next time we come. Ask your technician about protecting your carpet.
